SUMMARY:Hepatitis B for Nurses and Midwives | Online
DESCRIPTION:The two-day course will provide Nursing and Midwifery Professionals with advanced practical skills and knowledge in hepatitis B nursing and will introduce the epidemiology and natural history of hepatitis B; vaccination; testing; fibrosis assessment; advanced liver disease; stigma and discrimination and the cultural context of hepatitis B nursing and midwifery. \nCourse components: \nHosted by the Victorian HIV and Hepatitis Integrated Training and Learning program\, this course will be presented as a mix of self-paced and live facilitated learning\, providing attendees an opportunity to discuss and practice strategies with peers and specialists. Comprising of: \n\nOnline Learning Modules\nVideo Modules\nTwo 4-hour interactive webinars via Zoom*:\n\n\n\n\nPart 1 of 2: Tuesday 20 May 2025\, 9:30am- 1:30pm\nPart 2 of 2: Thursday 22 May 2025\, 9:30am- 1:30pm\n\n\n\n*Attendance at both sessions is required to receive a certificate equivalent to 8.0 CPD hours. Additionally\, the suggested self-paced learning components are equivalent to 2.0 CPD hours. DESCRIPTION:This training is suitable general practice and mental health services staff and other primary healthcare professionals working in the Murray PHN catchment. \nFacilitated by the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO)\, the training will offer foundational knowledge and awareness on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples\, identities and cultures while exploring the basics of cultural safety and simple ways to put it into practice. \nVACCHO’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander facilitators enhance participant experience and learning by sharing cultural knowledge and lived experience in a safe learning environment where questions are encouraged and welcome. \nClick here to register.
