DESCRIPTION:Bicultural workers play a vital role in helping health and community services understand\, engage with and respond to the needs of multicultural communities. \nThis practical workshop is designed to strengthen participants’ professional practice\, confidence and understanding of their unique role supporting communities to access and navigate health and community services. It is designed for staff from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are currently working in bicultural worker or navigation support roles within health\, mental health or community care organisations. \nLearning outcomes \n\nDescribe the scope\, responsibilities and value of the bicultural worker role within health\, mental health and community care settings\nApply key ethical principles and professional standards to everyday practice\, including confidentiality\, advocacy and community-led approaches\nIdentify how culture\, power\, bias and intersectionality influence service access and client experiences and adapt practice accordingly\nDemonstrate strategies for managing professional boundaries and expectations with clients\, communities and employing organisations\nDevelop a personal wellbeing plan that incorporates safe practice\, self-care and access to support and supervision.\n\nClick here to register.
