DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Austalian Prostate Centre \nUrological surgeon Dr Fairleigh Reeves will provide an overview of best-practice assessment for acute renal colic\, when urgent urological intervention is recommended\, together with evidence-based metabolic and dietary prevention strategies. Conservative and surgical treatments will be explained including when one is recommended over the other.\nCase studies will be used for context. \nLearning outcomes:\n1. Summarise the recommended workup for patients presenting with suspected kidney stones.\n2. List the red flags for patients presenting with kidney stones that warrant urgent referral to a urological surgeon or to an emergency department.\n3.
