Our approach to data and insights
At Murray PHN, national health data and locally gathered insights form the foundation of everything we do. We regularly collect, analyse and interpret data to:
- identify current and emerging health needs
- plan for future services and workforce requirements
- make strategic and real-time investment decisions
- evaluate programs and services
- drive innovation and system reform.
Key reports
Every three years, we conduct a major Needs Assessment, combining expert analysis with community consultation.
To support this work, we’ve developed a series of Population Health Reports which are in-depth health and service needs analysis that inform our Needs Assessment, and collaborative work with stakeholders and communities. These reports present an overview of the Murray PHN catchment as well as sub-regional analysis.

Online data
PHN Exchange is our integrated data platform, that brings together data from multiple sources to support health planners, providers and PHN staff.
Partnering through data sharing
Our commissioned service providers regularly report data to help monitor performance, service access, and demand.
