Healthcare Infection Prevention Control Audit Tool (HIPCAT)

Resources to help maintain infection, prevention and control standards

On behalf of Victorian PHNs, Murray PHN is helping to inform the development of an infection, prevention and control self-audit tool. This initiative has been developed with the support and input from the Victorian Department of Health and Hands-On Infection Control.

Set to launch in the coming months, the tool encompasses the National Safety Quality and Health Service Standards, which align to general practice accreditation, including medical services within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

The self-audit tool will be free to use and has been designed for Priority Primary Care Centres who need to complete twelve monthly self-audits to maintain infection, prevention and control standards, and for general practices. It will comprise of videos, quizzes and other resources covering the below topics.
