Cancer Council Victoria is pleased to announce that registrations for the next Nurse Ambassador Program are now open!

Nurses will be recognised as a ‘Nurse Cancer Screening Ambassador’ after completing a series of four online webinars and submitting a reflective practice activity.

This program is free and open to all Victorian practice nurses.

Program overview

The Nurse Ambassador Program provides practice nurses with the latest clinical knowledge about the three national cancer screening programs and viral hepatitis, so they can effectively discuss and endorse cancer screening participation and drive cancer screening uptake.

Each webinar runs from 1 – 3pm and will be delivered online via Zoom.

– An overview under-screened communities, barriers and enablers to cancer screening
– Plain language in cancer screening

Webinar 2 – Tuesday 18 March 2025
– Breast screening
– National Bowel Cancer Screening Program

Webinar 3 – Thursday 27 March 2025
– Hepatitis prevention and immunisation
– Cancer Screening Resources Hub and case studies

Webinar 4 – Tuesday 01 April 2025
- Cervical screening, self-collection and HPV
– Reflective practice activity and the next steps after NAP

*Please note attendance at all webinars plus the completion of a reflective practice activity is required to become a Nurse Cancer Screening Ambassador.
