Recognising and responding to wellbeing concerns in young people living with Diabetes | Online
Hosted by the Menzies School of Health Research
Supporting young people experiencing mental health and wellbeing concerns can be challenging. Knowing what to look for, how to ask the right questions, and when to take further action can make a meaningful difference.
This practical webinar will build participants’ confidence in recognising, assessing and responding to mental health and wellbeing concerns in young people living with type 2 diabetes. The session will explore how to identify and screen for risk, communicate effectively with young people, and use practical assessment tools to support early identification and appropriate responses. A case study will provide an opportunity to explore a real-world scenario and identify practical strategies for responding to mental health and wellbeing concerns.
This is the fourth webinar in the “Wellbeing Matters: Supporting Young People Living with Diabetes” series, where we are exploring topics designed to inform, inspire, and spark meaningful discussion. The series is delivered as part of the INSPIRE youth type 2 diabetes (YT2D) study, led by A/Prof Renae Kirkham at the DIABETES across the LIFECOURSE: Northern Australia Partnership.
