Murray PHN is pleased to release its new 2026-2029 Strategic Plan. The plan sets out how the organisation will work over the next three years to strengthen primary healthcare across the region and support better health outcomes.
Developed through extensive engagement with staff, community members, health practitioners, advisory councils, regional health services and other partners, the plan provides a clear roadmap for Murray PHN’s role in translating national health reform into practical, locally relevant action.
The plan is built around three strategic pillars: service system capability, community and organisational performance. These are supported by a focus on partnerships, workforce, population health planning, regional equity, commissioning, culturally responsive approaches, accountability and organisational systems and capability.
It also reinforces Murray PHN’s unique role working between communities, providers and government to improve access, equity and quality of care, so that people can stay healthier in their communities.
Murray PHN CEO Matt Jones said the plan reflects how the organisation works between communities, providers and government to improve local healthcare delivery and outcomes.
“Our new strategic plan is responsive to the emerging opportunities and changing environment. It sets out where we are going, how we will work with providers and partners, and how we will use our resources and capability to best respond to local need.
It positions Murray PHN to deliver a more effective, efficient and evidence-informed contribution to primary healthcare reform across our region,” Matt said.
