Cancer survivorship care focuses on enhancing survival times, quality of life and coordinated care across all health sectors, with an emphasis on the primary care setting. General practice is key to coordinating and providing this holistic care to cancer survivors.

Cancer survivorship care aims to look after the person with cancer’s emotional and physical wellbeing once primary cancer treatment has stopped. This may include help to deal with treatment side effects and leading a healthy lifestyle after treatment.

The Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre is the one of the largest groups supporting providers and patients with their survivorship journey.
